Slight side note on the straws one: I really hate how stupid this discussion is. I'm not going to go all eco warrior on it all, but I'm not a fan of the crappy plastic straws either since it helps facilitate more microplastics. But at the same time, paper straws are fucking awful. Wanna know an alternative that isn't shit? Disposable Bamboo Straws. Sturdy, doesn't melt, and cost wise is highly comparable to the cost of paper straws. The only reason most places use paper over bamboo is because it's a direct feedback to virtue signal how eco friendly the company is since bamboo straws are that similar to plastic ones.
It's always been about the virtue signalling. Hell, that's what ESG is all about. It's about looking virtuous, actual actions be damned.
