It gets messy because it's the Jewish State of Israel™ and all that, but there's a bunch of overlap, and you do have plenty of supporters of Israel who loudly wave the flag and proclaim themselves Jews, and plenty of supporters who also support atrocities. Which is why I don't find this unbelievable.

It's very out of character. "I want to rape paralyzed children" would be out of character for any group. No one does that, no one says that. Even Muslims who brag that due to ISIS "we can have slave girls again" wouldn't say that. It would be out of character for Muslims. It would be out of character for Kony.

People don't say stuff in a way that makes them look bad. Even the rape example you gave, they weren't chanting "WE WANT TO BE ABLE TO RAPE POWs", they were saying "these poor soldiers are being persecuted for the way they treated a Hamas terrorist who wants us dead".
