More likely the mods they banned on WPT were also modding these NSFW subreddits

Probably a bug. There are so many tranny and gay subs getting banned. No way the admins would ban any of that intentionally.

Other than a bug, could it be deliberate interruption of the calls to violence? Maybe Reddit is concerned about liability but wants to hedge their bets and/or doesn't want to piss off its user base. I've never heard of a bug on Reddit that results in subs being banned.
