Holy shit that was fast. If it were mechanical, I would think it was either on fire just after take off, or they would have at least had some time to declare an emergency.
I think something might have exploded on the aircraft. Possibly in the cargo hold, but I don't know that anything would explode at such a low altitude. They never even got to 10,000 feet.
Alternatively, the engine could have exploded, but it almost looks like (given the brightness of the fire as it's descending) that the whole plane was already on fire.
I'll tell you what, I sure as shit wasn't expecting one of the witnesses to start screaming Allahu Akbar after the explosion. I think I watched too many Syria videos.
It looks like a cruise missile streaking to the ground, wild. Since it appears to be some sort of medical plane, I wonder if they were carrying something very flammable. Could also have been a hydraulics issue, though it’s likely the fire caused the steep dive.
That would be a rudder hardover for a hydraulics issue. If the fire damaged the hydraulics it could cause a dive. However, the crash happened so soon after take-off, it would have had to have been on fire while taxing on the runway. I find it much more likely that an explosion took place to spread the fire.
