In this case I think PoE 2 is actually pretty good for making the early game fairly entertaining and starting the difficulty curve very early, it's not just a rush to end game to find any real challenges. The first 30 minutes on a new char are a bit of a chore because you'll only have 2-3 abilities, but then it picks up pretty quickly. A good number of players seem to get skill gated by the first main story boss at lvl 16-19, judging by the constant help begging in global chat, when you've barely unlocked 1/4 of the skills.
No dailies bullshit and as long as you're not a doofus you should be able to do the first 15-20 hours of content without having to repeat any areas just to grind levels/gear, just continual campaign progress.
