TV Tropes was done when they started removing "problematic" trope pages
It was destined to be from the start.
Its a game made by the evil 4channers in complete mockery of a "deep, emotional" VN meant for progressives and gays, entirely starting based around wanting to fuck the characters and memes like Snoot saying "Goodbye" through going full Columbine. And without the nostalgia and "feel good" moments of games like Katawa Shoujo to give the TVT people deniability.
TVT is always Leftist politics first more than being a catalogue. Look at how many "creator" pages will have detailed sections of Right-wing controversies (or even non-troversies like just saying right wing things) versus Left-wing ones who've committed legitimate crimes. Or how many random villain pages link back to Trump as if his election was Hitler.
They have pages for worse stuff.
Or this for a more apt comparison.
The problem is that they don't want to give it exposure because Snoot game is geniunely good and makes some valid points (even if it gets satirical) that go against their echochamer of validating troons
Both games are deliberately allowed up to push the narrative of racism and homophobia being a rampant and constant threat in the 00s. Ethnic Cleansing is almost entirely there to dunk on and mock, while Class of 09 is one of those "claimed" games by the Gays who make up most of its fanbase.
Snoot Game has neither of those things. Its a legitimate game that is only vaguely "evil." Which will make it hard to turn into a dunk page, while also hard to either pretend its reclaimed or attack without dragging down the original.
Its just like Wikipedia, certain things will just get completely deleted to avoid uncomfortable discussions (Kodomo No Jikan used to have a very detailed TVT page) while others will get gutted and left up to pretend they aren't hiding anything but also preventing anyone else from creating something about it.
I was watching the Arch Stream, and just thought it seemed like a perfectly reasonable dating sim.
I actually did not know it wasn't "Goodbye Volcano High", and that that was an entirely different game.
Cue my surprise when he started saying, that it was "way better". Then I assumed it was a pre-quel. It took me several hours to realize that it was a 4chan rebuke of the 1st game.
GVH had its reveal trailer a very long way from its release, with a lot of delays. Half of the joke of Snoot Game being started was that it would be created and released before GVH came out and completely eclipse by being the "original" that all art and discussion linked back to.
Which worked, nobody would even remember GVH if not for the constant dance around Snoot Game.
It appears that GVH was fully, or majority, animated, correct?
If so, considering Snoot Game is a traditional, 2D, mostly static picture, dating sim; I wouldn't be surprised if it did come out before GVH because it's much easier to make.
GVH is about half animated and half "2d models vaguely moving behind a text box" like all VNs are.
I think the joke was closer to "we will make an entire game from scratch before these yahoos stop delaying it and release it." And considering they did so with one guy and a bunch of random volunteers doing it for fun, compared to a founded studio with actual experience and history being funded partially by Sony, its still an impressive feat to do so.
Its a classic example of fans giving people what they actually wanted (a game where you can fuck the Snootgirl) while a developer spends hours huffing their own farts making some sort of "statement" in a game about high school dinosaurs.
I think you were late to the party with that, it had been removed long ago.
It's still up on allthetropes.org, but nowhere near as complete. If anyone is interested (I doubt it), they can go ahead and try to complete it.
Cool game regardless (doubly so since it was making a better version of a sweet baby inc game), same for I wani hug that gator! and maybe even the upcoming Devlog.
Imo trope cataloging requires even more autism than wiki management.
Reminder trope cataloging exist because Whedon just had to point out how he smart he was being by avoiding and subverting narrative devices with Buffy. TV Tropes started as a Buffy fanpage
The big issue with allthetropes is that GethN7 refuses to let people fork the site wholesale while declaring fair use because he is obsessed with Creative Commons licenses.
