Some reports indicate he hurt his back in Hawaii and was hooked on pain meds before trying psychedelics

I'm thinking those drugs probably messed with his head, if he wasn't already mentally unstable to begin with. Voluntarily throwing your life away just so you can post your manifesto isn't something a sane person does.
