It's about the kid from the first movie, The son of Connie Nielsen's character. He's all grown up and seeks revenge on a roman general who invades his province. Denzel is the slave owner who buys the kid and teaches him to be a gladiator. There are two Emperors in this one and the rumor is that Denzel ends up Emperor in the end of the movie.
If y'all haven't heard the original pitch for the Gladiator sequel it's weird. Maximus becomes a revenge spirit through the ages and joins the CIA during the Cold War.

I mean, its basically the same as the original sequel to the God of War game that they setup at the end of the game itself where Kratos as the God of War was always with some side in every major conflict of history fighting because he was still stewing with rage.
I like GoW 2/3, but I do wish we had gotten that too.
Doubt it, the GoW thing is a pretty natural follow from where the game was going to that point.
It was only dropped because they were super successful and Kratos became instantly iconic, so they literally retconned it out of existence with the opening of 2.

I wonder if there is any crossover between Scott's crew and the GOW team, or if they had separate cooky ideas
