I was watching a Sargon live and a chat caught my attention, saying something along the lines of “you bitch and moan about problems but never offer any solutions”. He became flustered and answered “well, um, because a solution hasn’t presented itself yet” - Translation: “I am well aware that I don’t”. Interesting too how he only began posting on his channel again after monetisation came back - funny that.
This issue seems to apply to most, if not all political commentators. You have to ask yourself the question: “What has actually improved because of these people and their actions?” - The resultant answer is simple “Absolutely Nothing”.
You watch because their opinions resonate with your own, and it's reassuring to feel that you are not alone in your views.
But what is the outcome from this? The content makes you feel black pilled, reporting on negative events, ridiculous policies and bad news, much of which either doesn’t effect you in the real world, or you can do nothing to change anyway.
They feed on your need for answers to all the negativity they present to you, acting as the knowledgeable, connected, relatable hero on the white horse offering the promise of hope and solutions and the similar opinions to you, but nothing of value is ever provided.
Of course, they make a very lucrative income from literally reading you the news and making points which are most likely what you already think. Their own lives are certainly improving as a result of the increasing income and recognition, but Has YOUR life improved because of them?
I always used to argue “but I’m more informed”, but, so what? Feeling informed, black pilled, hopeless, powerless and as a result, fucking miserable and addicted - watching every new video in the hopes that there would be an answer or a solution or some way forward. But it never came, and it never will. How long have these channels been going? What in your life has improved BECAUSE of them?
Solutions are not offered because:
- They don’t have any - (shhh you’re not supposed to know that).
- Sitting on your ass pontificating and moaning is much easier than doing anything - (easy money for doing very little).
- They want you addicted. Keep coming back + Watch more content = More money.
A solution would mean tackling the things that you do have control over, instead of being in a black pilled cycle over things you cannot control. Break an addiction, make good habits, go outside, see loved ones, get a hobby, live your life. Commentators depend on you feeling hopeless because it means you will routinely turn to them and watch them postulate on their soap boxes in the hopes to get solutions that will never come. If you sort your own shit out, you will realise that you do not NEED them for answers, (answers they were never going to give you) - and the grift grinds to a halt.
There is no point wasting hours, months, years, watching them in the hopes that they are coming to save you, they aren’t. They don’t know you. They don’t care about you. It’s for position, fame & money.
I realised I was being used. So I did myself a favour and walked away.
"Politics is downstream from culture," and all that.
You can call them grifters - and many are, perhaps even all depending on definition - but to act like they're changing nothing is silly.
Political commentators are having an impact, because the things they talk about are things that need more normalization in the culture. It's shifting the Overton window, as well as pushing cultural events like our own GamerGate, Trump winning (three times), and the like. It's all connected.
Which is not to say everyone has to watch political commentators, and I certainly get tired of them myself. But they serve a very important role of initially helping people wake up some. They provide an important counterpoint to legacy media.
I honestly think we wouldn't have as much hope for our culture as we do, if not for many of these commentators. And, again, that's not even saying I personally like them. But they've been undeniably useful. So many people like to shit on them for 'not doing things,' but fact is them talking to a large audience is infinitely more than almost all of the whiners will ever do.
You say they're blackpilling people. I'd say the 'you're not doing anything' crowd is embracing the blackpill much more.
You don't have to like them, but they're not useless. Talking about the problems is a step toward solutions. People who already know the problems aren't the target audience.
That is a fair point. They are shifting the window a bit. That said, there is a lot of circle jerking in dissidents circles. I do see the author of this post's point. I wouldn't say he should walk away altogether from those videos... I just wouldn't watch them very much. Hours of that shit will kill the soul.
And because politics is downstream from culture I actually prefer my chud streamers and based video makers that have their opinions and speak them. There's not a lot but I honestly prefer people who also talk about entertainment since it is indeed a bit of a canary in the coal mine for political topics like the gender craze for example.
The value of the commentary is in the material. Useless whinging and emotional exploitation, which is a majority of online commentary, does nothing.
It's important to back away when it's just a crab in the bucket vs actually going somewhere. Its like mgtow guys complaining about women instead of mgtow guys actually going their own way and doing something else.
I find most of these commentators and their communities just sit there and wallow and keep picking the scab instead of progressing to the next solution. It gets so depressing and bland.
Many commentators do have good solutions and evolve as persons and are worth tuning in to. But not the single issue complainers that never grow.
Because the ones doing it proper usually end up going off the grid or you don't see them posting online often, if ever.
We're reading from those who are complaining about life in probably the only area it can be done anonymously, cyberspace, what people are actually doing in meatspace may be different.
No, they could keep participating in the conversation and growing in new ways, many of them do, they don't need to go off grid. Mostly tho these commentators just keep whining about women for clicks from disaffected men. Just my observations.
