It still amuses me greatly how something as low effort and 'non-presidential' as sitting and doing a podcast has had effect on this election.
Like, of all things, the podcasting tours did the best comparison between the two that wasn't behind a veil of media and obsfucation. Trump/Vance showed up on highly popular podcasts everyone knows and just shot the shit like normal people (massively undermining their Nazi labels), while Harris went on a bunch of wierd niche shows with awkward names and came across as unlikable and stupid as always.
This just further shows how much they knew that was the case, and wanted to desperately control it.
It just goes to show how comfortable Democrats have gotten with media obedience and deference, and how utterly helpless they are when you take away their ability to demand edits and do multiple takes.
I mean, that was one of the original roots of TDS.
Trump skipped the media middleman and just tweeted his thoughts directly to the world, often unfiltered. Which not only made him look less "professional" (because they were used to presidential words having multiple proofreads and filters), but also forced them to listen to him instead of the media interpreting his words.
Which resulted in the legacy media losing their shit (and sowing the seeds for TDS endlessly in impotent rage) and him looking brutish and rough to everyone else.
