Nobody expected Poland to win the Polish-Soviet war and yet they did. Unexpected things happen in war. Don't dismiss the fighting spirit of the Polish so easily.
Especially the Katyn massacre is very telling. I trust you know what I'm getting at.
Yes, of course I'm saying nothing ever bad happened. (/s in case it isn't obvious)
Just as the western powers decided to create Czechoslovakia they decided to un-create it. That's how it goes with such nations.
Large parts of the population actually did. After all the Sudetenland was predominantly German. The Slovaks were also more happy than sad about it. They became an independent nation. Now obviously the Czechs were not all too happy about it as they've dominated Czechoslovakia up until this point.
You could say in the end Germany just retook historic German territory and righted some wrongs of the Treaty of Versailles.
Either way you look at it the entire ordeal was sliiiiightly more complex than "HITLER WANTS MORE TERRITORY!"
Czechoslovakia had its own share of serious ethnic troubles. That's the very reason why the entire thing even happened.
That's quite the funny statement.
But anyway the Czech and Slovak republic of today have little bearing on Czechoslovakia of pre WW2. Things change in over a century.
