The dude is being jailed for life over a domestic situation because he embarrassed some very powerful people. It wasn't a secret that Nancy's husband is a fag but thanks to this guy everyone knows about it now.
Absolutely absurd, especially when you realize this is San Francisco/California, who love their criminals. Even if you discount all the sketchiness, this is still obviously a politic verdict; they've let plenty of people off who've done much worse, with much lighter sentences.
Is there any record of people in California being given life without parole? It would be interesting to compare how often it happens and the crimes in question, to DePape.
When given the chance to address the court prior to his sentencing, DePape, dressed in prison orange and with his brown hair in a ponytail, spoke at length about Sept. 11 being an inside job, his ex-wife being replaced by a body double, and his government-provided attorneys conspiring against him.
Huh, I wouldn't have thought his ex-wife had been replaced with a body double, but the other stuff is believable, so I guess I have to give it some consideration...
Frankly, the cop fucked up by not shooting the dude to death in the doorway. As soon as he saw them struggling with the hammer, that gun should have been drawn. He probably didn't do it because it was a very nice neighborhood and they are probably warned not to use too much force on the uber wealthy of California. I'll grant him that he didn't know who was a guest and who was a home-owner, but that gun has got to come out in a situation like that.

I have no problem with this, he damn near nearly killed Paul with a massive blow to the head with a fucking deconstruction hammer. This is very clearly attempted murder. Not to mention he broke into the house. If California wasn't a shithole, he would rightfully be given the death penalty.

I agree with you at a certain level -
However this punishment is 100x what California is giving out for actual MURDER for anybody who’s not a white male. Bonus if you’re an illegal.
Fair, but at least someone was found guilty of a barbaric crime.
