Why are we direct linking Netflix's official trailers?
We can point and laugh from a repost at least and not give them more engagement.
Sorry my bad. I wasn't thinking about that.
Heyo, so Gundam is currently my favorite franchise and figure I at least talk about it for a little bit.
To me it's overall short but sweet but also flawed. The common criticism is the human character animations are VERY stiff. This isn't the first time Gundam did a all computer animated show, aka Gundam IGLOO, and it carries the same flaws as that.
Now when it comes to mobile suit action, it's pretty juicy, the machine are heavy, they're loud, there is lots of metal carnage and destruction. My favorite thing is that in this show, is that the Gundam is the boogyman. It appears like a unstoppable slasher killer from a horror movie and gives off the impression that it's unstoppable.
As far as woke content goes, I personally don't give a shit this time but the rest might have issues. I personally do not feel there is over abundance of DEI nonsense, Gundam characters come from all walks of life already and the Zeon faction (the main cast of characters) were already robust as it is. Heck, Amuro Ray from the original 1979 Gundam is Canadian. The main character I can emphasize that some viewers would eye roll that she has that weird side shave hair but she has this really good military officer conduct, acting appropriately for her rank and station. There is a Zeon infantry soldier that bugs the shit out of me. She looks like a "girl boss" but doesn't act like it either, she has tattoos all over her body, pink hair, nose ring, the works, and of course she is a infantry ground-pounder badass. What bugs me so much about her is that she could have all that stuff, but it's her uniform, you actually see other female Zeon infantry soldiers in the show that fight back and get gunned down, but they are wear the standard Zeon military uniform. So why is this one character special?
It's a Gundam show that hits all the Gundam check boxes. Giant robots and brutal warfare. There is even a scene where characters only a moment of mutual understanding but then the war rips them apart, it's a very Gundam thing to happen. I think if you're a fan you'll find entertainment out of it without taking up much of your time.
She was putting me off in the trailer too. But to be fair I will say that Zeon never seemed that insistent on uniform regulations. There was some lunatic running around in a mask for years. They even promoted the weirdo.
My line in the sand is explicit faggotry. I can tolerate pretty much everything else. Ideally it would have none but does it have homos that go further than a "knowing look"?
I honestly think everyone acted appropriately for their roles. It was just the female infantry girl that bugged me because of her uniform/combat gear. The what further annoyed me was seeing other female infantry in the correct uniform a scene later, so why does one character get special treatment, lol.
