You're dealing with people here that are perfectly fine with the "No responsibility. No agency. No rights." trap that debate over this topic eventually leads to. I wouldn't bother discussing it too deeply.

The average human doesn't want to deal with the fact that the human mind isn't perfect and can have its faults. They don't care that the culture war has taken genuine disorders and contorted them to an agenda either.
