It's not OK for adults either. I know some people are on the "adults should be able to do with their own bodies" tour, and that's true to some extent. This in no way requires doctors to be complicit in what you do.

I see it as those freaks who get insane piercings, facial tattoos, forked tongues, etc. none of it is actually necessary, but if they're going to do it better to have someone who knows how to get it done without killing them.
I would not even have an objection to this specifically if you could pay a doctor to amputate your arm without any cause, though I find that undesirable, but my main issue is that this form of mutilation has special status.
