They've been infantilizing language for a long time.

The recent most obnoxious one I heard was that if someone talks near you and what you hear is offensive, you're supposed to say oof. And if they acknowledge it, they say ouch. Or some shit like that.

Instead of using language as intended, they invent ways to be offended and obnoxious.
