So far, the Biden administration has handled disaster response worse than the fucking Bush administration. And each time, the response has basically been to cover up the disaster, and to deny funding so it doesn't look bad on paper.
Hurricane Halene: Multi-State disaster with major flooding that the states have basically had to respond to with little assistance.
East Palestine Train Disaster: Lackluster NTSB response, Buttigieg didn't even fucking show up for weeks, Trump HAD to make it a political issue to bring attention to the destroyed town. Vance personally posted to twitter that the pollution from the crash was visible in all of the down-wind and down-stream rivers, streams, and lakes.
Maui Fires: A deep blue Democratic state where the government initially claimed that less than 10 people were dead, if that, from fires that destroyed a city, an evacuation response from the police that trapped hundreds of people in a fire, over a thousand missing, the local police intimidating and threatening witnesses and journalists who were trying to document the situation. The hospital staff were leaking that they thought hundreds were dead, and the death toll only raised to 80 after massive national pressure and attention. Tulsi Gabbard and Glen Beck had to make public outcries against the local and state response, as well as the complete silence from the feds. The fire conveniently destroyed homes in an area that the state planned to develop as an ultra-rich, elite, vacation community. Homes that were not destroyed, who's occupants survived, were condemned and bulldozed. Eventually the feds came in and said they'd add a couple hundred dollars of stimy checks to the people who had lost everying
Covid: Do I even have to say? Continuing the lockdowns for years longer than necessary, mask-mandates, injection-mandates, criminalization of dissent, mass experimentation, hypocrisy to all of the above, refusing to identify the difference between "of" and "with" covid for years, explicit racial discrimination in treatment, refusal to investigate Andrew Cuomo having killed over 45,000 people as a result of negligent homicide, so on and so forth.
Northwest Fires: Hundreds of mysterious fires in mid/late 2020 that were intentionally being set across Oregon and Washington that the feds never looked into. Local police and local citizens were sure it was a protracted Left-wing terror campaign at the time. But, everyone just assumed it was "climate change", despite an ongoing Leftwing fire-bombing campaign in both Canada and in Portland at that very moment. You know, the same people who vandalized Catholic community centers with the words "It's going to be a long, hot, summer".
I will remind you that FEMA's response to Katrina was poor due to the fact that nearly 3 whole states were destroyed, and the government of Louisiana is corrupt as shit. The crisis at the Super Dome was intentionally exaggerated because a) victims assumed help wasn't coming, b) the Dems wanted to slander Bush as a racist who wanted to kill black people. Meanwhile, the US Army took over a regional airfield and ran 24/7 rescue flights for weeks on end, flying out more aircraft than the field could actually support to get thousands of flights in. People were trying, the situation was a shit sandwich, and some people in the Democratic state government were pocketing funds.
Don't get me started on the fraud that the government of Puerto Rico committed during a different hurricane under Trump where they were intentionally refusing to distribute water.
Admit it, they've fucked up shit so bad in the past 4 years, you forgot about some of this shit because they've never responded to any of it correctly.
And lets make it even more blunt the scale of the disaster. As I was told by my dad the retired firefighter (when we were talking about that whole situation), "If they are still missing after about a week, 'missing' usually means 'so much of them burned there may not even be bones left.'"
Also, as he got particularly angry over, it is worth pointing out that the Maui fire departments were ready to roll and contain it in an early phase when it was still possible to actually fight it and not just do the wildfire equivalent of a fighting retreat. But they were denied and told to wait. Why? Because the water sources they had preplanned to use had supposedly been claimed by a local Native American tribe, and there were rituals that had to be performed before they could be allowed to use it. It took hours before these were actually done and they could start getting tankers filled and running up to the fire line, and by then it was already too late.
Malicious actions of the local government lying? Or true facts from an activist and hating whitey local tribe? Honestly, either is a likely answer.
You know, I was trying to mention it, but I forgot to.
The intentional refusal to sound the evacuation alarm for the people in the local communities, and the intentional denial of water access to fire-fighters should be taken as a capital offense. Frankly, that fucking "magic water serpent" nonsense was just an excuse for them to make sure those children burned.

This was not a disaster, it was a DEMOCIDE.
