Like NeoGecko mentioned they're basically just mad you can boil down their entire ideology into one single word, and still be right about what it does and what it generally looks like when it happens.

That's where the ire is.

No one cared about black people or brown people in games when they appeared. There was no ick, there was no groan. They existed in the game/movie/media and that was fine. Mostly because they were black or brown, and they existed.

But then, these "I know better than you because I live in a bubble and don't realize it" pod people started to show up, treating black and brown people like chess pieces where there is a win/loss state due to their ideology telling them to, rather than treating them like, say, people.

And you know this to be true, based entirely on how they treat conservative black and brown people who don't play along with the way they think things are.

That's the difference. They can't just exist, they have to be bastions of everything right with the world, and can do no wrong. They went from decent people in their in game/story/media universe, and turned them into mary sues who also have all the ideological brain rot that they'll spout at any given time. And you have to sit there and pretend that this is all okay when you know zero people would act like that in a given situation, other than those who proselytize at you.

It's not okay, it's woke. And people are tired of it.
