I don't really understand how bitcoin would be immune to this problem. All of the transactions are tracked on the blockchain anyway, and the government is already making people pay taxes on those transactions. If our freedom to access and use cash became restricted in order to prevent "money laundering" or whatever, then I assume the freedom to access and use cryptocurrencies would also be restricted for the same reason.
