Even if you ignore all the woke changes (and removing an entire scoring system ranks very high on that among all the utter ludicrous stuff), its a completely unnecessary game to the highest extent.
This isn't Resident Evil Remakes where its almost a new game being built, its a game that is currently buyable and playable already on Steam with a bunch of minor fixes and changes being sold for full price. Its hard to even say its pure QoL updates as a lot of it makes the game so much easier that it ruins the entire feel of it. The only outright positive it has going is that RE Engine is so easy to mod that the mods for this version will be 20x more complex and easy to work with, which isn't a reason to ever pay for it.
The entire thing seems to be them trying to revitalize a dead IP, but they didn't put in enough effort to make it worthwhile to actually buy. The wokeness of it, while very valid and important to call out, is just one tree in the forest of this failure.
Since they killed Frank in four they can't move forward with him and no one gave two shits about the stuck up wanna be journo bitch that spends the whole game making a muck of everything Frank is trying to investigate. The whole game I was hoping if catch up to her that she'd be dead already and got what she deserved. Now they are forced to go with a remake that's gonna bomb because they can't just update it and ADD stuff not TAKE AWAY.
I was always hoping they'd make a prequel and let us play Isabella and Carlito during the events of Santa Cabeza.
They didn't even ask Frank's voice actor TJ Rotolo if he would reprise the role.
They don't care anymore, and the groups they task with doing this don't care either.
