FACT CHECK: FALSE
The vast majority of the male population was genocided. Although many women were executed on the steps of the government center initially (along with men, boys, and girls by the cutting of their throats); most of the white women of the population were forcibly married off to black men by decree from the dictator of Haiti: Jean-Jacques Dessalines. This was because it was an explicit ethnic cleansing where the dictator made a racial decree that Haiti was now going to be a "black" country going forward; therefore white women could not be allowed to marry white men (especially since most were dead or fled). Total deaths from the genocide are somewhere under 7,000.
Speaking of which, the dictator of Haiti explicitly allowed specific white people to be spared. In a meeting after the successful revolution, he announced to a handful of the white people who were revolutionary leaders against the French, some white officers who had defected from the French and were in the Haitian army, and some German colonists. Additionally a platoon-sized element of Polish defectors were spared, though he instructed them to leave the island immediately.
To be particularly clear, Jean-Jacques Dessalines is personally responsible for the genocide, as many of the mass murders were not carried out until he personally arrived to give orders to the local revolutionary leaders in the city to do so.
