It is important to remain vigilant against malicious actors who would intentionally fabricate images with the sole purpose of getting us to do or believe things that are contrary to our interests in service of their own malicious goals.
As for my abrasiveness, it's because I am absolutely disgusted with the collapse of standards within this community. We've failed to browbeat the greenhorns into good practices and even the veterans have all grown lazy and complacent, taking the path of least resistance and forgetting why we established certain standards to begin with. I'll stop berating people when they stop earning it.
