It’s really not uncommon when you get into wealthier and blue blood families. My family is fairly affluent and one of my siblings married into fuck you money, what’s hilariously common in those families is how quickly they will drop direct family members if the “patriarch” (the one with the trust strings) says so. I’m betting these worms were told to denounce RFK jr or lose their free lunch.
It's not always the patriarch either. I've seen it be the matriarch just as readily. My family operates like that. The matriarch (one with all the money since her husband passed away) decides who you are and aren't allowed to like. Everyone reliant on her money just does what she says. The only people in the family that have any agency are the ones with enough money themselves to not need the matriarch's money. This dynamic is probably why many societies banned women from owning wealth because generally speaking I find the matriarchs far more controlling than the patriarchs.
When the equal pay movement was really starting to get going in the 70s and 80s, the loudest and most vociferous voices were the wives of the CEOs who were afraid it would fuck up their gravy train.
I'm no fan of the guy but it disturbs me to see a family attack their own so publicly

Well of course.
