That's not actually a death threat even by legal standards, telling somebody to kill themselves is more like a call for you to do something not them wanting to do something. I really fucking hate this, because if this is the standard people are operating on then some poor fucker who really is getting death threats from a crazy person is going to get ignored by these blatant attention seekers.
By the way, you see this behaviour quite a bit from game devs whenever they get criticism and you realise it's just somebody venting their frustration and saying kys rather than actually wishing death on them. Yeah, sure, okay, it's not a pleasant thing to see in your inbox, however I guess I'm way more sensitive to this being British because I've seen the shit Muslims will put in peoples' inboxes which aren't just death threats they're full on incitement. There have even been cases here in the UK where you've had people who have had fatwas issued against them which is the Muslim equivalent of putting a bounty on peoples' heads for their death for real.
Fuck these people who use death threats to try and deflect criticism from themselves. I feel like faking death threats should be illegal because the implication like with any false accusation is that 'somebody' did it and they're maliciously counting on people not looking too closely and gaining sympathy or worse maybe having violence inflicted on somebody else if they want them to take all the heat.
