I would alter this statement as such, "You can’t have a million dollar dream with a minimum wage work ethic personal responsibility."
It's just another article selling communism to people who never took the personal responsibility to learn any skill that made them have real value. Something the average person cannot do themselves. So they get lumped into minor jobs, jobs that take advantage of them, or the new term they like to use "gig economy," until the communists come and promise to take from those who do have valuable skills and spread it all around.
Yeah, I get it, the job market and overall employment in general sucks, and I figured that out a bit when I decided to walk away from the corporate world. Not that most of what they bitch about ever applied to me, because if your corporate job is of any value all you really have to do is convince everyone you will get whatever shit needed done, and they learn to leave you the hell alone.
Yeah immigration is a huge problem too. I don't think it takes away from the other in that people need to make themselves valuable, but I also can't help but wonder where I'd have gone today if my favorite field (tech) wasn't so saturated with Indians. It basically totally ruined a career choice I grew up on, outside of perhaps consulting--because when it comes time to actually get something really necessary done, the Indians just plain suck.

When Australia went for zero covid, they shut down all immigration.
Wages went up. Rent went down.
The problem is the super wealthy betraying their own nations via unwanted mass immigration.
