I cited this as one of the reasons he was moving against the Democrats.

Fundamentally, he was always aligned with the Left, and then as his own kid became more and more of a radical tranny, he's been assuredly moving against the Dems, particularly on social policy. The kid is a rabid leftist tranny, and genuinely hates him and wants him to die.
