My biggest gripes with the first Bay Transformers movie was that it didn't have any transformers in it for like the first 40 minutes, and after that it became typical Bay shaky cam where you can't see what's going on.
yeah...it definitely had that problem...but it felt like a transformers movie...not just because they actually got peter cullen involved (though that definitely helped), but it had the right tone and the stakes felt right as well

I don't think I ever watched any of the sequels.
