That's where I am too. There was certainly an absurdly large scale killing of some kind for undesirables (not just Jews) but the official numbers and how they reached them require far too much trust in people I'd never trust otherwise, and on any topic most people wouldn't either.
But even if the real number was bigger than claimed and it all happened as said, it wouldn't change the fact that people treating "accept the official narrative as sacrosanct or you are evil" is a dangerous platform to stand on and nobody of intellectual value should hold it.
Even more so, it shouldn't be treated as somehow impossible to both believe the Holocaust happened and that the Jews have been embellishing and exploiting it for further gain ever since. Yet for people like him, that's just not a position allowed.

A big "waaaaaait a second" moment for me was realizing that Israel as it currently stands exists because of WWII.
