France’s post WW2 immigration peaked in 1975 where there was an increase to 3.4 million versus 1.7 million in 1946. The French population was ~54 million in 1975 versus ~40 million in 1946. So of the 14 million, 1.7 were immigrants or 12% of total population growth.
The only data of “modern day” I can find is 2008 where the foreign population or immediate children was 11.8 million or ~19% of the total population of 64 million. Based on this we can safely assume that the foreign population is above 20% if you take into account the multiple generations since WW2 and the lack of transparency since 2008.
