The Battle of Masada has barely anything to do with Western civilization, let alone the French Revolution.
The Jewish-Roman Rebellions may have been intense, but they aren't much more than an interesting portion of classical military history (or explicitly jewish religious history). The Fall of Baghdad is more important in world history, and the Battle of Tours is more important for European history.
I think it really started after Masada.
