The BNP destroyed themselves from what I looked up on them.
When they actually got an MEP seat so got an establishment position, they f'd up and got easily found out embezzling and other shit plus they couldn't hold an argument in an actual debate.
Compare this to UKIP (as Reform didn't exist back then) and you see they had the arguments in place, knew how to debate and how to apply pressure successfully to get the referendum they wanted. Even the EDL has a better position than BNP as evident by them still being relevant.
Nigel Farage is literally just saying here that he gave the BNP voters what they wanted policy wise without the shitstorm that the BNP was, similar to Conservative voters in 2024 since this clip was in 2019.
Because the BNP were fucking idiots, I remember back in the day seeing them completely stumble a debate and even made some weird sock puppet 'children's show' where they just went on and on about race.
Nigel isn't positioning himself as 'far right', just RIGHT. Having a working immigration policy doesn't need to focused on race since a working immigration policy NATURALLY excludes certain 'cultures' by default.
