It isn't just because they suck at games. Its because hard games like Souls games require people to learn pattern recognizing skills and the kryptonite for leftists is people being able to catch on to leftist bullshit , with their pattern recognizing skills.

The problem isn't that they're awful at games though. A lot of people are. The problem is that they became games journalists. A ton of people play games for reasons other than wanting a challenge. For every tryhard, there's someone else who's out there working 70 hours a week, or raising a family, or they have some other challenging hobby like competitive shooting or boxing or a million other things. Those people don't really care about how skilled they are at sitting in a chair pressing plastic buttons, and they derive no sense of self importance from it. It's just something they do for a little low effort fun in between all the other high effort shit they do. The thing is, those people are usually smart enough to know they shouldn't be writing articles about the hobby they don't care about all that much and only do for a casual stress relief past time. If you're pretty fucking good at weightlifting or carpentry, but only play 5 or 6 hours of games a week to take a load off, write about weightlifting or carpentry, not games. Game journalists however are a different story. The real reason they got into it is to further their careers in leftist brainwashing. They either signed onto Kotaku or IGN as a young communist in hopes of using it as a stepping stone to bigger jobs at CNN or the NYT, or they realized the value in pushing communism in a what was then still untouched audience of unconverted. They ended up sticking around in games journalism so they could take it over and fortify another beachhead in their war. They care even less about the games than casuals and always have. It was always communist evangelism.
Or, they were just too terrible at their job that nobody else wanted to take them, so they were forced to stay on at games sites.
