Nice reference, I really need to watch the continuation but I'll probably have to rewatch.
Also lmao, why is it STILL over 1k sales?! O_O
Also one thing I wonder: how's digital sales in Japan? Are they more into physical copies or will they buy digital?
Code Geass was a very good show...in its first season. A shame the second was so rushed.
Had it been 39 episodes instead of 26, with the same things happening but more room to breathe, I probably would've liked it a lot more.
Then again, I defend those long, still, quiet scenes in Evangelion. Including the elevator scene.
They lost me with the big plot twist end of season one with the first time the power misfired. I felt cheated, they could have made the series go in that general direction some other way, or at least foreshadowed it better with the supernatural power messing up a couple times before.
I think the problem is that if it messes up before, it becomes very out-of-character for Lelouch to make the error he does. He’s too meticulous for that to happen if he knows it’s a possibility.
Either way it was like a bad M Night Shyamalan twist, I really think better writing could have brought the conflict to a similar place without that. I haven't seen it since it aired, but I remember thinking it was a nearly perfect anime up to that point.
I know it's a hot take in the weeb community: many years ago I left a review with similar thoughts on an anime site, still called it good, but it wasn't a popular review.
Elevator scene was fine, the other notorious one I just fast forwarded.
And honestly, it really needed more time. New stuff got introduced and quickly even replaced. Was a bit too much for me. Season 1 is perfect and I look forward to a rewatch.
2nd season really screwed lelouch with everyone just turning on him for their own reasons and gains
