Too bad they waited until they had already destroyed their own reputation. It's going to take more than lip service to win back the customers they have lost. They have an easier path than a company like Disney, but it will still take multiple good uncensored games in a row to win people back.
The lollipop chainsaw remake is the one I have my eye on to judge current trends. They have promised no censorship, just like Shift Up did. It will be interesting to see if Sony and Microsoft still have the will or the power to make them backtrack on that promise. With as spineless as every studio is these days, I don't have my hopes up. But if they prefer imaginary money from imaginary modern audiences over the real money coming from people like me, I am fine with letting them live with that choice. It would probably be better for me in the long run to not waste so much time and money on gaming anyway.
I wonder if the grifters will latch onto this game and the fact that it literally has the most objectified character in probably video game history in the form of Juliet's boyfriend.
She literally refuses to let him die, keeps him around as a literal head that can't do anything without her, and the game is nothing but characters mocking, belittling and abusing him for their own amusement while he is constantly guilt tripped that he has to deal with it because she loves him and controls his literal every move in life now. All the while he is having constant emotional breakdowns about his situation and future, that nobody takes seriously.
Probably not though because men can't be abused. Instead all discussion will probably be on the main villain being a prototype of an incel years before they become well known and instead it'll be more gushing over muh soggy knee. Proven by the fact that the original had a trophy for looking up her skirt of course.
