Most people are fed up with woke pandering and I think we are seeing the reverse of having black people being shoved in to every media. We have black Greek gods, black Vikings, black Norse gods, black historic figures like Cleopatra or Newton.
Since BLM crap blacks have been forced so much in every media that even the most normie of normies is noticing it and rejects it.
The gender-swap is not as obvious or people would have reacted the same way.
I find it funny when I make this exact point. People always ask why the backlash. I think I told you how I love bbc programming but only watch older stuff because they went crazy and period pieces today are absurd.
I dislike how disingenuous leftists are, I grew up liking a lot of black actors but now you are racist if you think Cleopatra should not be played by a black actress.
I’ve been called that for wanting a period piece to look like it’s supposed to. Like you said, prior to the diversity worship I was willing to try anything out but now I’m very wary or need recommendations from a trusted source on things. I got attacked for saying the little mermaid casting was dumb and it would’ve been easy to write a story about a mermaid. Heck, I know there is folklore from Africa about sea creatures. Just use that.
The same people that say “what’s the big deal, it’s just a game, why not include this character?” Are the same people that praise the game for being “inclusive” and “diverse”
Yep. Goalposts are always moved.
