Turning off the TV is surprisingly good advice. Rip the incomes from BBC and starve them all.
Yeah, I've realized lately how very, very different my opinions are to those around me who still consume TV news, read the newspaper, or, for the case of millennials and younger, spend their free time streaming...
It's like living in a completely different world.
Because propaganda is unfortunately very effective.
Thomas Jefferson had some amazing quotes about newspapers that easily apply to TV today.
“The man who reads nothing at all is better educated than the man who reads nothing but newspapers.”
“I do not take a single newspaper, nor read one a month, and I feel myself infinitely the happier for it.”
“… the man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”
