Metro put out an article with the racist headline "Sorry straight white men, Doctor Who was never made for you". Shockingly, this didn't go over well with the fans, and the backlash was so severe it appears Metro has ended up deleting their entire Twitter/X account in response. https://twitter.com/MetroUK
And the writer of that article protected her account.
I am thinking they destroyed their brand worse than Star Wars
My family was huge Doctor Who nerds. As in my grandparents helped get classic Doctor Who episodes digitized because they had recorded them on tape way back when. They toughed out 11th Doctor but gave up by the 12th's poor writing and BBC announced they were going to double down on keeping the writer and pulled out "look a female Doctor" crap.
Some of my first memories are my parents watching Dr Who on PBS with Tom Baker. I still need to watch all the classic Who. I watched until second season of Capaldi. I tried giving Jodi a chance but quickly stopped caring. I heard what Timeless Children did and that solidified my decision to stop watching and new Dr Who
Good luck fren, a good chunk of the old series was lost when the BBC forgot who was supposed to be archiving it.

I actually gave up when I realized the series was effectively incomplete...too autistic to jump around like that...
Still, enjoy what there is. The series was pretty good from what I saw.
I think everything from Tom Baker (and maybe even almost all of Pertwee) is in existence, so it’s not too bad if you stick to that era on.
Doesn’t mean it’s all good, necessarily, but from the late 60s through to the early 80s, it has a pretty good, intact run…
I know on Tubi and Pluto they have a lot of the old episodes but I have heard a lot was lost which sucks
