It's a strength because it makes them resistant to ideological conditioning from the propaganda machine that is our media. It's a weakness because it makes organization efforts to accomplish anything an exercise of herding cats.
This is also why Libertarianism is kind of a utopian ideal that can never really be reached. They take that individualism to such an extreme that it makes it near impossible to collectivize them in order to counter outside threats from actual collectives like Communists.
This is why government, while evil, is unfortunately, a necessary evil. Somebody has to be in charge, because we are not a psychically linked gestalt mind.
