There is nothing to be gained from debating this with them.

The only response is to ask them why not a black man. And then tell them why they immediately thought a white man instead of a black man when they thought violent man.

Then accuse them of racism if they would consider the black man to be violent by default too, if they thought the white man would do harm to them but not the black one.
