I normally scoff at the concept of social media addiction but people like that almost certainly have addiction problems of one variety or another and social media just seems to fuel it.
It's not social media addiction, it's a narcissist's validation addiction. Social media is just an extremely low-effort way to for a narcissist to feed it.
I saw a guy walking around the shops yesterday yelling out "I'm about to order a Soy Latte" and then "This muffin is fire!" - I said what are you doing - he replied "the Internets down and I'm just letting everyone know what i'm doing"
The left is general have validation issues because of how insanely insecure they all are. The strength of their opinion is directly proportionate to how many other people approve of that opinion.
