There've only been 12 players in the history of the WNBA with their own signature shoe. In the past, almost every signature shoe from 1995-2011 belonged to a black (sic) woman. The fact that only white women hold the power of the signature shoe now, as the WNBA enters its most high profile and prosperous phase, shows how black (sic) women are being ignored in a league that they dominate.
They don't say how many "white women hold the power of the signature shoe now" so there's no way to even know what we're comparing. It's so weaselly worded that I don't even understand how how a list of 12 people that was, at least at one point, dominated by black women now somehow has its "power" held by white women. What, are there 2 current white women with signature shoes and 0 black women? Is that what we're complaining about? Or is it 1 white woman that the article acknowledges as the best player in the world, making it even stupider?
Also, somehow the fact that black women dominated the list from 1995-2011 isn't a problem, because they suddenly understand per-capita.
