"Women who code" announced it is shutting down its operations due to financial reasons.
Apparently, just the executive compensation of 5 individuals accounted for ~20% of their expenses.
This is a sad day for gender equity in tech.
The catastrophic consequences will surely ripple through the whole software industry.

i'm currently learning how to code and it's boring as fuck. so i have no idea why women would make an exclusive program like that. ya know, only taking in women just to show up the boys. not to mention... with how little women there are in coding... probably. this was dumb from the word go.
If you don’t enjoy it, you’ll struggle in a career. I’ve been doing this for 18 years now. Writing code is the best part.
Dealing with politics, incompetent Indians, and people pretending the incompetent Indians know their heads from their ass would have driven me out a long time ago if I didn’t enjoy the coding.
Women don't code because they aren't capable of it. Software is pure logic, and women don't do logic. That also explains why you can't do it either.
Probably saw some dumbass statistic that said “women are underrepresented in the coding field” and decided to strong independent women their way into the field.
Turns out having the attention span of a goldfish doesn’t help when typing in long and extensive lines of code. Who would’ve guessed?
