I do appreciate Callum on this one because I feel like he represents a lot of people out there who do sometimes go "Shut up Carl" even if I might agree with him on a lot of things. Yes it's great Ana's finally having a red pill moment but at the same time Callum has a point about her and people like her. It's no surprise the lotus eaters is blowing up on Rumble because they really do have some true diversity of thought there, maybe they can invite Ana Kasparian on after she gets excommunicated if she survives. Good on them really, seems like they're getting anywhere between 4,000 - 5,000 viewers fairly regularly which is amazing for most people.
Do they really have diversity of thought though? 🤔
I watch their YT clips frequently and their Rumble lives occasionally.
They do have some interesting guests. Dan is unique in that he's a bit older and thus gives a different perspective. Stellios is also different in that he's very verbose and doesn't have complete command of the English language.
But TBH, I find most of the other regulars fairly interchangeable. I have no problem with any of them but often don't differentiate between Callum, Harry, Connor and the other guy who's name escapes me.
I also wish they introduce their guests and the panel on their clips, even with a simple infographic or YT description.
I understand they are just raw segments from the podcast. But often I watch a lengthy clip and have no idea who is the new person in studio.
It depends on the topic, even online unless they're die-hard leftists lots of people are being red pilled on the particularly woke topics and policies. It's pretty easy to find common ground on those issues so yeah they'll be very similar when it comes to that. However when it comes to economics and other more thorny topics they do end up in disagreement with each other.
To be fair, Rumble is inflating their view counts, but I'm glad to see the Lotus Eaters getting some traction. As much as they annoy me sometimes, they're much more thoughtful and insightful than the usual Conservative Inc pundits at Blaze or Daily Wire.
As far as diversity of opinion, there really seem to be three different factions. Callum and Harry, are both very much on the anti-institutionalist, freedom end of the Zoomer right, and Callum especially is pretty red-pilled on the Woman Question. Dan seems more sympathetic to that position as well. He and Harry are both pretty black-pilled.
Josh and Stelios are still in the Classical Liberal phase that Carl himself used to occupy, and Carl and Connor along with Calvin Robinson are much more conventional tradcons, although Carl at least tends to be more critical of certain tradcon perspectives.
