I honestly don't care. GW is woke, they figured that the tv series will bring in a lot of new players so they can discard their current player base. Lets face it, they will probably lose about 15% of player base, if we are lucky and their initial boost will be higher then that. Odds are they will not be able to keep them and will hurt them in the long run but at that point no one cares - it will be blamed on "market volatility" and ww3.
The series will cement the idea of female custodes, even the "based" of the new fans will not care since that is day 0 for them.
They will have space marine 2 and probably other games that will be male focus and then do a bit of a slow boiling frog with the rest of the setting.
One year later, Custodes will be half females in all packs and some new female characters and it will be revealed that some long lost primarch is actually a woman and they will make an entire division of female space marines out of that. Also some characters will start sharing their sexual preferences, space wolves will be multi-racial furies and I think they were already planning on making Adeptus Mechanicus gender neutral.

We already talked about this in the other thread, but the boiling frog theory has actually never been realized in practice with established IPs. It's more like the frog is poked with a knife, then brutally stabbed over and over until it's an inchoate mass of viscera.
Star Wars had TFA, a billion dollar hat trick which people actually caught onto pretty quickly, then the Last Jedi destroyed the profitability of the franchise.
The Witcher had a mediocre-to-decent first season with butt ugly women, then went off a cliff.
The Last of Us was a masterpiece narrative due to the efforts of Bruce Straley. Neil Druckmann murdered the series with a golf club in the second game.
Tomb Raider 2013 was a decent reboot that made a big splash. Lots of players, fan discussion, fanart, etc. Rise of the Tomb Raider was recognized as middling, Shadow of the Tomb Raider came and went before anyone realized it was there.
Game of Thrones went very woke in the last two seasons, became a disaster of historic proportions, and ended the careers of its showrunners despite bringing in record viewership.
