Fact 1: When I had my first and second kids, people I worked for (a specific job with exclusively rich clients) all expressed shock and amazement that we were breastfeeding our kid. Every single rich person, male or female, viewed it as a massive waste of time and energy and not in any way worth it.
Fact 2: First and second kids were born, the hospital stressed the importance of breastfeeding over all else. Even where the first kid was really difficult to breastfeed for various reasons, the hospital insisted we tough it out and keep trying rather than resort to formula.
Fact 3: Kid 3 however was told after 18 hours to STOP FEEDING OUR BABY and insisted breastfeeding was somehow dangerous. This was never substantiated with any evidence or facts. This hospital then proceeded to medical kidnap and torture our child for the tune of $10k per day. It only stopped when I called a lawyer.
Kids 1 and 2 were pre-covid. I think some directive went out after Covid telling hospitals to stop breastfeeding. There were also those big formula plants that shut down, making formula hella expensive. Draw whatever conclusions you want but those seem to be the facts.
