Just wondering if it's the same as the UK, is the process of 'fagging it up' with a rainbow actually no longer make it a crosswalk as it isn't recognised under the Highway code?
I don't know about the legal specifics I'm afraid but in the UK we're usually very organised and specific with highway infrastructure to our credit so it's entirely possible. A pedestrian crossing is a pedestrian crossing and nothing else, but all of this typical careful British organisation means nothing in the face of the woke commissars and foreigners. I've ranted about how foreigners don't know how to use roundabouts and give way priority but they're also pretty bad at even understanding pedestrian crossings.
I know it's a thing in other countries but when we do it properly we do the infrastructure organisation as well. The cat's eye highway system is excellent when they bother to put the damn things in the roads.
