I think even justifying it and then not pressing charges is embarrassing for the government, because it means they were still outright wrong about the Nazis but also wouldn't sell with everyone.

Would be so much easier to just never bring it up and burn the files to never give any ammo to us. But I suppose the justice system still has some work left in it that it can't be completely subverted that whimsically.
