Yeah missed that edit, I'd say that's a deeper problem in the West with AI art in general that they don't have a good reality/fantasy distinction. We still have people saying that there's more than two genders and that third world cultures can integrate into a first world (barely nowadays) society.

Right, I remember this discussion about the prevalence of yaoi/yuri characters vs. the IRL Japanese attitude towards homosexuality. I think that's a good point, but some of the broad effects of porn, like increasing feminization of men and the collapse of normal sexual relations, can be seen in both Japan and the West. The problems will be worse over here, but we will end up sharing them.

That explains some of the larger disparity but put it this way, Japan doesn't have suicide nets outside their workplaces so I think the work/life balance is a key factor.

Yep that's true. Japan also has the same problem, the overwork and suicidal ideation, but it seems to a lesser degree.
