I'm curious, why Mossad? What does Israel gain from covertly massacring russian civilians?

I can see angry Ukrainians, an actual rogue ISIS cell, or even a russian psyop (assuming they meant to blame Ukraine). Mossad just doesn't make sense to me this time.
