As long as they're non-mandatory, what's wrong with genetics? Given that most marriages are loveless or broken anyways, why wouldn't I wish to create kids with a partner that either maximizes the chance of them being really smart (and thus getting far in life) or really healthy (which matters a lot). Or maybe both?
Sure, we don't know if eugenics can work that well or precise with humanity. But if we don't study - we'll never know.
